My name is Bobby Sweeting, a professional cyclist and mechanical engineer who grew up in Sarasota, FL. I began riding at the age of 16 after a knee injury cut my high school running career short. After upgrading quickly I signed my first pro contract at 19 years old with Nerac p/b Outdoor Lights, where I met a steep learning curve. I spent the year following wheels, learning, and suffering at each and every NRC race. The three following years were spent racing professionally for Aerospace, Toshiba, and Land Rover, all while pursuing a mechanical engineering degree at the University of Florida.
My wife and I moved to Danbury, CT at the beginning of 2010 when I found a great job as a design engineer with the Cycling Sports Group (Cannondale, Schwinn, Mongoose, GT). A successful 2011 season has allowed me to leave that job in order to pursue professional cycling with Kenda/5-Hour Energy. Motivation is at an all time high for 2012!
